Yaerin Wallenberger
Yaerin is a student at Bowdoin College. She is double-majoring in Psychology and Education (with a minor in Chinese), and has a particular interest in clinical, educational, and personality psychology. In the future, she hopes to use her educational background to create more culturally-aware and neurodiversity-affirming schools and workplaces. At Connection Labs, Yaerin worked on concept development and early-stage planning for a survey that has the goal of providing quantitative feedback on a team’s strengths and weaknesses in relationship-building. She particularly enjoyed researching various psychological concepts, such as empathy and trust, designing survey questions, and analyzing past Connection Labs workshop participants’ pre- and post-workshop survey responses. This past summer, she interned at Advanced Therapeutic Solutions for Anxiety, a clinical practice that specializes in treating selective mutism and other anxiety disorders. During her free time, Yaerin is an enthusiastic singer, and has served as a leader in both classical choirs and in informal acapella quartets. In addition to her musical pursuits, she enjoys creative writing, running, and doing origami.
