<image:title>Our Team - Caroline Cannon - Caroline has a 20-year history of creating and pivoting companies across a broad range of industries. Her specific expertise is in developing business models/feasibility for growth including revenue development, cost savings and qualitative measures associated with customer need/positioning, labor, culture and impact on the organization. Most recently, her focus has been on launching companies from academic research where ground-breaking intellectual property is being created. She brings a fundamental understanding of the unique way in which academics typically approach commercialization and her workshops, including those for the National Science Foundation - Dartmouth I-Corps program, provide ways to commercialize discoveries while allowing faculty to remain committed to academic work. She enjoys the very early stages of company creation and enabling those first steps that entrepreneurs must take to realize a different type of value in their discoveries. Without those steps, much research will never realize its potential to “do good” for the world. In addition to commercializing academic research, she coaches budding entrepreneurs and early-stage executives on leadership and start-up best practices. <image:title>Our Team - Nate Orluk - A senior at Williams College, Nate is majoring in English and concentrating in Environmental Studies, a combination he hopes to help use to make the world a better place. Alongside these interests, Nate has always found himself drawn to work focusing on leadership and group dynamics. In high school, this meant teaching soccer, baseball, and skiing lessons, as well as participating in opportunities such as student government, Relay for Life, and captaining both the baseball and cross-country teams. Upon his arrival at Williams, Nate began teaching at a local elementary school, leading field trips in the beautiful Hopkins Forest, and got involved with WOOLF — an outdoor orientation program during which leaders take groups of freshmen on four-day backpacking trips. Now, Nate has served as both a group leader and an instructor for the next generation of WOOLF leaders. Whether by leading these trips or simply taking a few friends out on a new hike, Nate finds himself most at home leading and bonding with those around him. At Connection Labs, Nate's primary contributions came in the forms of enhanced data collection and analysis to help better understand and interact with participants; kickstarting an email campaign with the goal of giving past participants opportunities to revisit key workshop concepts; and implementing automated processes to help make the Connection Labs process more efficient. In his free time, Nate plays baseball at Williams and also enjoys backpacking, soccer, reading, writing, listening to music, and meeting new people.</image:title>

<image:title>Our Team - Lee Rose Emery - April 4th, 1966 - June 1st, 2022 Lee spent most of her life as a creative artist; acting, writing and teaching. Studying character and human motivation was always a passion of hers, whether that meant delving into the nuances of a role in a script, dissecting a scene in a play, or digging into the real life human dynamics of interpersonal relationships. Lee was a graduate of Middlebury College and also held a Master of Arts from Rhode Island College and Trinity Repertory Conservatory. Lee started as a Shakespearean actress in New England and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue film, television, and script writing. She performed on stage and in television and film, in the US and internationally. In 2012, Lee and her family relocated to Prague, the Czech Republic. In Europe, Lee continued to act and worked as an international travel writer, visiting over twenty countries, exploring and immersing herself in different cultures and locales. She also enjoyed teaching English as a second language and facilitating conversation groups with people from all over the world. After her time in Europe, Lee moved back to Los Angeles with her husband, Josiah, their two kids, and their Springer Spaniel. She loved reading, researching, hiking in Griffith Park, and practicing yoga with friends. Lee’s unfailing kindness, optimism, and generosity of spirit were evident in her work as a member of the Connection Labs team. We are ever grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside Lee and honor her in memoriam.</image:title>
